DIY Father's Day Gift...

here is the little message the kids and i put together yesterday!

the kids had a blast putting this together

(except for z...thanks to the helicoptor that flew over us...end.of.the.world...screaming etc.)

after brightening  up the colors with photoshop

(i really wanted them to pop out scream "look over here" on my bedroom wall.)

i sent them these pics to wally world's  one hour photo

and had them printed into 5x7's which i will frame in four seperate frames and hang in our room.

if you hurry..

this could be a great last minute gift

and really, you can make any message you want...

and...

if you don't have enough kids,

just borrow the neighbor's

or..

use things that are special to YOUR dad and write your message with them.

you get the idea, right?

a family project

in progress...

the first real snowstorm of the year

....started in the kitchen...

making its way to the livingroom...

with the help of  a few sparkly little lights

the snow plows won't be here till spring to clear up its aftermath...

being "snowed in" isn't such a bad deal after all!

where's the hot cocoa and whipped cream?

preparing for a big birthday

this year we are doing things a little differently...

each of the kids took 24 paper circles,

decorated them,

and wrote little "gifts" they could give to 

Baby Jesus

for His

birthday this year.

as the pull one out of their envelope and do the task on the back,

they staple them to the string in the living room and make a paper garland.

i ran out of colored paper so we used white,

but

i think im going to have to have them refill their envelopes due to their avid  desire to

"clean the toilet" "make mama's bed" "clean out the fridge" "fold the laundry" "dust the cobwebs" etc.

the next paper garland will be colored and i can't wait to show you  how beautiful it will be

we made SPRINKLES!!

very awesome, very cool, sprinkles..

that somehow managed to turn

VERY army green...

thankfully,

its the week for being thankful,

and

fall colors just happen to be the ticket

anyway,

you should totally give these a shot!

here's where i got the idea and recipe to make

Rainbow Sprinkles

oh,

and i would HIGHLY recommend using more than one piping tube

 if you plan on making more than one color.

DIY Birthday Bonnet or Center Piece for KIDS

a couple fun projects for those little fingers that like to keep busy

1. Cut Tissue Paper in to 12x12 squares. Use four or five sheets for each flower.

2. Fold accordion style

3. Gather in center and fasten with a pipe cleaner leaving a long stem

4. Gently pull each layer of paper apart

5. Fluff and shape into a "flower"

6. Repeat five or six times and twist stems together.

7. Add a yarn tie...

and....

BOLDLY MODEL YOUR CREATION!

or

for the more timid...

make your own center piece.

1. Follow the same steps as above...

2. Add a little exta charm by cutting the ends of your folded papers at an angle

3. Gently peel layers apart....

ever so gently

and....

enjoy an allergy free bouquet!
