this little guy took my by surprise this morning..i don't know why..we had a pet snail for three days

friday....

 i would have been lost without

my awesome cousin and my sister who flew  in from 3000 miles away..they didn't know i had plans for them *grin*

we worked all evening

took a little break for this...

then it was time to get back to work

at around 10:30 we left the cake looking like this...

on saturday, mary took care of the final details.

 i took care of some other important business upstairs..

i really, really cannot thank my dear cousin enough, oh and my sister, mellon too!

they are awesome!

we had SO much fun, just hanging out, and creating.

its such a bummer that 3000 miles keep us apart...gonna have to fix that someday.

thursday was

baking day...

and fondant kneading day..

it was a good day.

my amazingly wonderful neighbor left this at our house the other night.

 it was in a bag that he left hanging on the door knob, along with some delicious looking cucumbers, yellow squash, and a few of his extremely juicy tomatoes. but i cannot, for the life of me figure out what this is.

and...

i can't ask my neighbor.

 he runs a "stealth operation"

seriously.

he's awesome.

he never delivers veggies when i can get to the door to thank him.

(or ask him what this funny looking veggie is)

i either find a bag of fresh produce hanging from our door knob,

or look out the kitchen window to see him driving off into the sunset!

i love that guy.

maybe i'll make him some zucchini muffins this morning .

when i deliver them, i'll have swallow my pride, and ask him what the mystery veggie is.

A new pet??

Is it a tree frog? A parakeet?  A gecko?  A dog? A cat? A rabbit? A hamster? Sea monkeys?  A Hermit crab? A pet rock? A sugar glider? A chinchilla? A pig? A turtle?

nope, nope and nope!

Those were all good guesses, but NOPE.

yes, our new "pet" is a snail.

*rolling eyes*

honestly, i didn't think too much about him when the kids brought him inside the other day. they bring all sorts of creatures in, and want to keep them. so, i found a jar for them to make him a little home and they set it on the kitchen counter. surely, they'd forget about him within a few minutes and then he'd be sent back outside to where he belongs.

NOPE.

wrong again.

two days later, i found my dear daughter letting him take a stroll across my kitchen table

no joke.

i kid you not!

so, i guess its official, and he won't be going anywhere soon.

as a matter of fact,

he had a new little friend join him this morning..

i think we should give them names...

BUSY.

wonderful baby zee didn't plant a garden this year but still have zucchini coming out of our ears  very greatful to have a wonderful neighbor with a fantastic garden wish i could find the volume control, these kids should have one, somewhere potty training cloth diapering picture taking spring cleaning treasury making summer reading sorting and folding dreaming up new projects WISHING FOR SLEEP experimenting with cloth wipes running through puddles frozen bing cherries missing family fishing battling the heat wave discovering the farmers market bbq teeny tiny baby toes regaining order after nine months of slacking off mending homeschool book hunting jell-o jigglers SPILT MILK  melted popsicles golf shopping flip flop wearing rodeo watching visiting with old friends baby rocking play dough making

etc. etc. etc...

and yes,

i have lots of

Looking: at the little boy in pink training pants who is carrying around a package of crushed saltines in his mouth...i sure hope it doesn't open up and spill crumbs all over, but it probably will.

Sewing: nothing...i should really start a new project, huh?

Wishing: someone would make me a whopper of a salad. i told you i was hungry.

Enjoying: the sleeping baby next to me.

Wondering: what i should do with the half rotten raspberries the girls picked yesterday.

Loving: my three yr olds mop of curls.

Hoping: that i rains. don't ask me why.

Marvelling: at the mess on my kitchen floor...didn't it just get mopped yesterday?

Needing: to switch the laundry, again.

Smelling: nothing...thankfully.

Wearing: my favorite camo pants..YAY! they fit again.

Noticing: that its lunch time.

Knowing: that i have to get up and find something to feed the monkeys

Bookmarking: cloth diapers...yeah, my newest obsession.

Opening: a can of paint (in my mind)

Giggling: at the thought of painting my girls bedroom...its gonna be bright orange.
